Turns the Corner

Things have taken a turn. And NOT for the worse (nor nowhere near the worst). It might have something to do with the metaphorical blue wave that has materialized into a snarling pack or females all intent on taking a bite out of the worlds dumbest misogynist's legs. Or it might be that this ‘turning the corner’ for once means with vehicle fully intact, unscathed and firing on all cylinders.

More likely is the simple fact that I have committed to a project, one that is getting 99% of my attention. I insist that 1% be held in deep reserve for actual wtf real-time codes colored red. Just in case. As a back up.

The 2019 Epic Ride, all 1,600 miles of it from Seattle to somewhere on the beach near LA, is in full on logistic operational recon mode. Catalina as the grand finale is out, although we still might ferry over to enjoy a celebratory banquet sans ride. Latest candidates are Venice Beach, Santa Monica Pier and Terranea Resort (formerly Mainland of the Pacific and close to the Korean Bell). All I can say at this juncture is that it will be epic wherever we end our 21 days of Southbound cycling along the Pacific coast.

In another development I am showing the infamous Blue Whale, a 33 foot Fleetwood RV, to a gentlemen this afternoon who seems to be interested in my offer of tossing in the Green Shadow (a Honda VT600)  as a full purchase price value-added bonus. It this happens, the proceeds will most likely go towards a scaled-down SAG vehicle, something in the scope of a Ford Transit. Back in 1998 I wrote a screenplay simply titled ‘A Triathlon Story’, that evolved into six consecutive year-end documentary films covering the same subject. In the initial story, a group of athlete/adventurers (not to be confused with student/athletes) talk the manufactures of GU gels into sponsorship their summer triathlon fun, traveling in a wrapped 1940 Sedan Delivery, totally customized inside and out.

I am itching to outfit something to resemble that original idea and take it on the road.

The turn of events leading to this, could mean that this is that.
