No Matter Who

The problem is my reaction to the solution. 

If you have been with us for some, even a small part, of this incredibly dull accounting of ‘things noticed’ that we began on January first and pledged to repeat every day after, you will surely know by now that I am big on three things:

• PROBLEMS
• REACTIONS
• SOLUTIONS

A quick and timely example of this potentially altruistic structure could be:

It was reported today by the MSM that the POTUS has authorized the use of lethal force by the ten million troops he has ordered to the Southern Border to defend our country from the Guatemalan invaders should any of them open fire with stones. This evidently acting as a rule of engagement. THE PROBLEM with this is as simple as it is complex. Starting with the reality that the invaders are actually asylum seekers and ending with the fact that they are 900 miles from the Big River, on foot, unarmed, undernourished, and desperately seeking some type of improvement to the lives of their loved ones by pleading for legal considerations in a country that is starving for unskilled labor. They pose no threat unless they are expert pebble tossing marksmen with skill-sets of ninja samurai guerrilla snipers. The real problem is that POTUS is using them as fear bait to scare his low-information white male base into the voting booth in FOUR FUCKING DAYS. The big problem, exactly the same as last week with three more hate-related domestic terrorism crimes, is that his MAGA maniacs act on these lies and violent race related innuendo. They kill innocent Americans with automatic weapons, cars and pipe bombs. Not rocks. 

I trust that you see the natural progression into the REACTION phase. Because I am appalled by both the vitriol and verbosity this wanna be dictator uses to incite that part of his flock easily moved by his fear-mongering propaganda. He is, as has been astutely suggested, pandering to idiots. My reaction is anger. I am pissed. Mostly because there are a great number of sheep in that flock, moved to arms by their leader and the state supported media that echoes his deadly message as a political service announcement in quarter-hour intervals, but more because these uneducated racists, are my neighbors. They might reside in Tennessee or Arizona or North Dakota but we are all Americans, we all live in the US and pay taxes, parts of which are funding this and a hundred other civil atrocities. All of the conservative agenda. And all failing. Pathetically so. 

Alas and at last, we move to the SOLUTION station (where intent meets action). This is usually the easiest part - on paper. I will lay it out for you in calm, clear (uppercase) letters: THERE MUST BE BALANCE. The right has grabbed the microphone and ammo, they are on a mission to destroy the democracy that took us over two hundred years to establish. This has had, and will continue to have until checked, a devastating effect on the poor, people of color, seniors, vets, gays, those with pre-existing conditions, students, women, athletes, scholars and teachers. EVERYONE BUT RICH WHITE STRAIGHT MALES and the CORPORATIONS they oversee. 

After a thorough calculation of the problem, objective reaction and best solution exercise, I feel comfortable and confident in the answer. It is as clear as a cloudless summer sky, shimmering like the calm waters of Oceania and bright as a speckled robin’s egg:

VOTE BLUE. No matter who.
